Amazon is currently having a sale, so if you're looking for something to read now – or to put aside for your summer holidays, it's worth checking out their cut-price history books.

When I last looked, they had
•  A History of Modern Britain for £3.60;
•  Jerry White's London in the Nineteenth Century: A Human Awful Wonder of God for £7.29; and
•  Kate Summerscale's fascinating The Suspicions of Mr Whicher: Or the Murder at Road Hill House in hardback for£8.94.

Obviously the prices tend to change from time to time, so the figures given above may not be accurate by the time you look. They may even have gone down.

Other bits of the site worth checking out include Amazon's
•  100 best selling history books;
•  New history releases; and
•  100 most gifted history books.

There are more history book choices in the Chartist Ancestors bookshop, which includes a selection of Books on Chartism.

All books bought through these links earn Chartist Ancestors a few pence each, and help - in a small way - to fund the site.
